Spent six years as sports editor of the Lancashire Telegraph, during which I won the North West Sports Reporter of the Year award in 1997 for my investigative and feature work, judged by Steve Ryder of ITV. During my freelance career I covered Premiership football and motorcycle racing for the Mail on Sunday, Daily Mail, Independent on Sunday, Independent and Guardian. Recent articles have appeared in the Sunday Times and the Italian magazine, Riders.
